TOLFA is constantly growing and trying to improve the services that we can offer to the animals in our locality and hence there is an always an ongoing need to fund larger ‘one off’ projects.

Recently TOLFA has built a new laboratory and Xray room at its TOLFA Animal Hospital. We hope that this facility will enhance our ability to be able to diagnose disease and help more animals to recover from whatever medical disease they are suffering from. A blood haematology machine (specifically veterinary) will enable us to diagnose whether an animal has an infection – bacterial or viral, has internal parasites such as worms or blood parasites, is anaemic or a whole host of other information.
The blood haematology machine will add to our recently purchased blood biochemistry machine, enabling our hospital to perform full blood profiles.
Over the years, the number of cows, bulls and calves that TOLFA has been called to rescue has grown significantly with 2021, being our busiest year to date. It has become apparent that our existing large animal facilities are no longer big enough to service the needs of all of our bovine patients.
We therefore plan to build a new hospital facility that will be only for cows and bulls and incorporates lots of specialised enclosures. This will enable us to not only admit more than double the amount of patients that we do now, but also to provide them with more space.
We hope to secure an Xray machine & CR development system to also enhance our diagnostic capabilities. The new machine will be housed in our new laboratory and Xray room. We will be able to help our animal patients to an even greater degree as an Xray machine will enable us to diagnose all different kinds of injuries and illnesses such as fractures and dislocations, lung conditions, ruptured diaphragms, intestinal foriegn bodies and much more.
The Xray machine, CR development system and bucky table are a significant investment and may take several committed donors.
