We are an animal rescue hospital and shelter in Rajasthan

A young Indian girl is wearing a shimmering royal blue long sleeved top with red and silver borders around the cuffs and neckline and long jewelled earrings. She is smiling and cradling a young tabby kitten with orange eyes. Behind them is the blurred background of drape shades and a large upturned steel bucket.

Animal welfare education

TOLFA is teaching children and the community how to respect, care for and value the animals we share our environment with. Animal lives matter.

Two young Indian girls are smiling and sat on a stone bench with their brown goat who has a loose rope lead around their neck.

Rural animal health

All animals are important to us. We have no interest in increasing an animal’s production because it benefits us humans, but we do believe that every animal has the basic right to a disease and pain free life.

Two team members, one male and one female are wearing light blue TOLFA polo shirts and treating a pet dog with a drip on the steel table in the outdoor TOLFA Dispensary. The dog is white with some cream patches on their head and rump and they are wearing a black collar and lead. Their male owner has one hand on their back for comfort. Behind them is the blurred background of the large white clinic noticeboard and trees.

Owner animal clinics

Our owner animal clinics run on a donation basis which means that as well as your animal receiving the veterinary treatment that they require, at the same time you are helping a street animal in need.

Welcome to TOLFA

Our bustling animal hospital and shelter is situated between Ajmer and Pushkar in rural Rajasthan, India, where we pride ourselves in being an integral part of our community.  Since 2005 we have been making a positive impact on animal’s lives through our various interventions. Driven by love, compassion and justice for all living beings, we rescue and treat sick and injured animals, help to prevent and eradicate rabies and provide animal welfare education and more.  As well as trying to improve the life of every animal that we meet, it is also important to us to empower our staff to reach their full potential.

Learn more, get involved or visit and you WILL make a difference in the lives of the animals and people that we serve.

A female team member is crouched on the brown sandy and stony ramp of the large animal yard. She is dressed in a long sleeved brown patterned blouse, orange and black long floral skirt and a bright orange cloth with a blue and gold border covering her head. She is looking down at the young brown calf she is bottle feeding. The calf has a necklace of bells around their neck and a little milk dripping from the corner of their mouth. Behind them is a steel jug and the blurred background of the yard’s green painted gates, and a large green kennel block in the distance.
